Biography
The work Marieke van Gulik is characterized by the high degree of detail and the realistic representation of people and animals. She trained at the Maastricht Art Academy and has since specialized in working in wax. She mainly develops her bronze works around the theme of ‘man in still movement’, where the movement catches and holds your gaze. Although these are of course silent images, they seem to want to complete the movement in which Marieke has captured them at any moment. In addition to her own creations, Marieke also knows how to enchant with works that she makes on commission; she transfers her meticulous way of observation to bronze without any problems, creating very personal images.
